Brimstone’s orbital arsenal ensures his squad always has the advantage. His ability to deliver utility precisely and safely make him the unmatched boots-on-the-ground commander.
SIGNATURE ABILITY: SKY SMOKE
EQUIP a tactical map. FIRE to set locations where Brimstone’s smoke clouds will land. ALTERNATE FIRE to confirm, launching long-lasting smoke clouds that block vision in the selected area
Controllers typically have the strongest vision skewing abilities and can lock down or control areas quite well. Brimstone’s signature ability, unlike many others, doesn’t recharge mid round but it does allow you to purchase three of them. When you use Sky Smoke, Brimstone pulls up a mini-map that allow him to put smokes anywhere near him. Typically it’s around 1/3 of the entire map in range. As long as you are setup behind cover you can place down smokes in a variety of ways. You can do one at a time to try to delay enemies advancing or you can use all three of them to essentially full smoke a site by yourself, cutting off an entire lane. There’s different type of smokes in Valorant. Brimstone has filled smokes as opposed to hollow ones. Filled smokes are similar to CS:GO, where once you step into them it’s blurry everywhere and you will have to be really close to someone else in the smoke to see anything. This makes them harder to play in, which leads Brimstone to have a bit more of a defensive play style.
EQUIP a stim beacon. FIRE to toss the stim beacon in front of Brimstone. Upon landing, the stim beacon will create a field that grants players RapidFire
You can place this ability in an area that increases your rate of fire at. It’s only 10% which doesn’t sound like a lot but on high fire rate automatic weapons it can be the difference between you or your teammate securing a kill that you may otherwise wouldn’t. It lasts on the ground for a few seconds but keeps in mind that – enemies that rush into it also get effects. This ability applies to anybody on both sides, so you make sure to put that in a safe location. When you gain the effect, you keep it for a couple of seconds after you leave the field. You can charge up then turn the corner and still be having the effect if you get in a gun battle immediately thereafter.
EQUIP an incendiary grenade launcher. FIRE to launch a grenade that detonates as it comes to a rest on the floor, creating a lingering fire zone that damages players within the zone
You can set up this ability from long distance or bounce it around corners and create the damaging zone on the ground. It can punish campers or dissuade someone from pushing into you.
ULTIMATE: ORBITAL STRIKE
EQUIP a tactical map. FIRE to launch a lingering orbital strike laser at the selected location, dealing high damage-over-time to players caught in the selected area
This allows you to target anywhere on the map and after a couple seconds delay and warning for the enemy, laser beam from the sky rains down. It can potentially one-shot anything and importantly it goes through roofs and ignores all types of cover. There is no hiding from this thing you have to run out of it. It’s a good way to punish a hot spot on the map or to cover a bomb. There are some spots on the map where it’s very powerful to just sit around corners and Orbital Strike your enemies to kill them or force them to move. Either case, this ultimate is quite powerful.
