Cyper is a one-man surveillance network who keeps tabs on the enemy’s every move. No secret is safe. No maneuver goes unseen. Cypher is always watching.
SIGNATURE ABILITY: SPY CAM
EQUIP a spycam. FIRE to place the spycam at the targeted location. RE-USE this ability to take control of the camera’s view. While in control of the camera. FIRE to shoot a marking dart. This dart will reveal the location of any player struck by the dart
This ability doesn’t recharge during the round, but you do get it each round. With Spy Cam you want to put it as high as possible to get a vantage point of surveillance. It lets you play an entirely different area across the map but still gain information by periodically popping in to your Spy Cam. If you see an enemy target with the Spy Cam, you can click on them to hit them with a tracking dart what will reveal their location until they hold “F” to remove it. Your enemies have to drop their gun first to remove the dart. If you see multiple targets come past your Spy Cam it might be better not to alert them because whenever you spot out opponents they will be spotted on your teammates mini-maps with a red question mark. It won’t mark exactly where they are, but you can get ton of information by just holding it in place. Spy Cam can also be used in an offensive way. You can set it up around a corner to get you a free peek but there are better agents at that job.
EQUIP a cyber cage. FIRE to toss the cyber cage in front of Cypher. ACTIVATE to create a zone that blocks vision and slows enemies who pass through it
Cyber Cage is one of the more unique styles of smokes in the game. It has a very low throw distance. You basically drop it right in front of you – it doesn’t go very far. However, it has the added benefit that slows opponents that want to go through it. Whenever there are slow effects there are sounds so that you know someone’s trying to walk through it. Cyber Cage is a hollow style smoke, when Cypher throws it down he has to press “F” to activate it which can be useful when you are planning to set up a fight. If you have the bomb planted, you don’t have to burn Cyber Cage immediately. You can put it down and wait for perfect moment to detonate it.
EQUIP a trapwire. FIRE to place a destructible and covert tripwire at the targeted location, creating a line that spans between the placed location and the wall opposite. Enemy players who cross a tripwire will be tethered, revealed and dazed after a short period if they do not destroy the device in time. This ability can be picked up to be REDEPLOYED
Cypher is good at holding off the flank and playing on the backside of the team. He has a lot of traps in his pocket that can really slow the enemy down. One of his abilities is Trap Wire that allows you to target onto a wall assuming that there is another wall it can attach to. It creates a very useful trap to watch the flank. When enemy runs through it, they are going to be marked for a few seconds which allow you to see them through a wall. However, your opponents can outplay it by walking, if they are not sprinting they will have time to react to it and then shoot it. But even that will tell you where they are. You want to put these at around chest height because enemies can simply jump over it.
ULTIMATE: NEURAL THEFT
INSTANTLY use on a dead enemy player in your crosshairs to reveal the location of all living enemy players
This is the “anti-clutch ultimate.” You have to eliminate an enemy target first to use it, but when you do – press the ult button over someone’s dead body. At that point it will mark through the map as well as on the mini-map where the entire enemy team is. This only lasts few seconds, and it doesn’t track them perfectly. It takes a snapshot of where they were in that moment. Still that’s usually a ton of information. When you use it in the middle or near the end of a round, it tells your team exactly where the enemy is coming from.
